IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Todd Linsley
Smith
January 23, 1962 – January 3, 2021
Todd Linsley Smith, 58, of McIntryre, OH, was carried in the loving arms of his Savior to meet the next chapter of his life, Sunday January 3, 2021. He died of COVD-19 complications in the Weirton Medical CCU. He was a resident of Gables Care Center in Hopedale, OH.
Todd was born January 23, 1962 in Steubenville, OH, to Louis Findley and the late Ruth (Cooper) Smith. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his brother Jonathan, sister Faith, paternal grandparents, Russell and Elsie Smith and maternal grandparents, Rev. Virgil and Evangelist Mary Evelyn Cooper.
Todd was a gift to his family, a blessing and a teacher of important life lessons, such as compassion, faith, hope, perseverance, acceptance of those society considers of little value and unconditional love. He did all these things without being able to speak but a few words. His sweet nature touched every life he came into contact with. He was special and will be greatly missed.
Todd was a member of the Shaffer Chapel A.M.E. Church in McIntyre.
He leaves behind his father, Louie of McIntyre; sisters, Deborah and Jana Smith of Wintersville; his niece, Jara Dorsey-Lash and husband Michael of Bellefonte, PA. Todd also leaves to mourn his passing, maternal aunts Ione Atkins, of Carnegie, PA, Kathleen West of Wintersville, Rev. Mary Ann Smith of McIntyre, Nancy Dalton of Dillonvale and Gloria Cooper of Wintersville, as well a multitude of cousins.
The family wishes to thank the nursing and direct care staff at Gables for the care theyve given him over the past 8 years. We deeply appreciate everything youve done for him.
Special thanks to the doctors and especially the nurses on the CCU who showed such compassion and dedication to Todd in his final battle. Thank you for patiently answering our questions. Thank you, Kathy Whitney and Tim for being there for him when we couldnt be. Thank you, Tim, for holding his hand while he passed. All of the front-line healthcare workers are heroes and warriors. God bless you and keep you safe. Our prayers are with you.
Thank you, everyone, who prayed for him. We know they reached and comforted him.
