Tyra Kaye Greene, 77, of Smithfield, OH, passed away Friday, March 20, 2020 in the Weirton Med. Center in Weirton, WV.

Tyra was born Aug. 12, 1942 in Martins Ferry, OH, daughter of the late Frank and Catherine (Bennett) Core.

She graduated from Smithfield High School in 1960. Tyra worked as a telephone operator for General Telephone, an apple sorter for Weldays Orchard in Smithfield and she was a caretaker for the Stanton Homes also in Smithfield.

Tyra enjoyed shopping, playing bingo, garage sales and flea markets. She was a member of the Smithfield Christian Church.

In addition to her parents, Tyra was preceded in death by her sisters, Marita Peaches Core and Lanila Babe Barker.

Tyra is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Larry Greene, whom she married July 12, 1963. She will be lovingly remembered by her four children, Brad (Colleen) Greene, Todd (Joni) Greene, Misty (Mike) Senanefes and Nicole (Allen) Slaughter; her six grandchildren and one brother, Craig (Libby) Core.

Tyra will be laid to rest with a private family service in the Northern Cemetery in Smithfield. A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held at a later date. Her arrangements are in the care of the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Smithfield. www.jefosterfh.com
