Vernon E. Brown, 51, of Mingo Jct., passed away Tuesday, July 7, 2009 in the Weirton Medical Center ER. Vernon was born on October 3, 1957 in Martins Ferry, OH, son of the late Vernon G. Brown and Evelyn E. Holiday who survives.Vernon was a Methodist by faith. He was currently employed as a truck driver with Larue Trucking in Wintersville, OH. Vernon was a member of AARP and loved NASCAR Racing and NHRA Drag Racing.In addition to his mother, Vernon is survived by two daughters, Nicole Bates of Washington, PA and Amber Brown of Mingo Jct., OH; three sisters, Phillis Jean (Ronald) Ronevich of Mt. Pleasant, OH, Kimberly Brown of Montana and Patricia (Tim) Yeager of Wintersville, OH; one brother, Mark (Patty) Brown of Dillionvale, OH, four grandchildren and a cousin Joe Holiday from Rush Run along with several other nieces and nephews. Visitation for Vernon will be held on Friday, July 10 from 5-9 at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Smithfield, OH where Vernon's funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11am with Pastor Fred Compston officiating.
