Vernon W. "Tony" Sherwood, Jr., 76, of Dunedin, FL, passed away Sunday, April 1, 2012 in the HPH Hospice Center in New Port Richey, FL. Tony was born December 29, 1935 in Chicago, IL, son of the late Vernon W. Sr. and Evelyn Sherwood Rogers. Tony was a retired bus driver for the Pinellas County Transit Authority in Florida. He also served his country in the US Army. In addition to his parents, Tony was preceded in death by his wife Blanche E. Sherwood who passed away July 5, 2011. Tony is survived by his children, daughter Michelle (Dennis) Stark of San Marcos, CA, daughter Lesley Wahl of Port Richey, FL, daughter Jonita Harder of Vancouver, WA, his son Scott W. (Bethany) Sherwood of Fairborn, OH; sister Sally Hopkins of Santa Rosa, CA, sister Ellen Sherwood of Matteson, IL; his beloved aunt Millicent Doll of Joliet, IL. Tony also leaves behind eight grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Visitation for Tony will be held on Friday, April 6 from 10am ' 12 noon followed by his funeral service at 12 noon at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto, OH. Rev. Robert Meyer will officiate Tony's service and burial will follow in Toronto Union Cemetery in Toronto, OH.
