Veronica Colabelli, 85, of (Plum Run) Rayland, OH, passed away Tuesday Aug. 5, 2014 in Trinity Medical Center West in Steubenville, OH. Veronica was born Nov. 18, 1928 in Plum Run, daughter of the late Tony and Marcella Reinagle Verhovec. She worked as a cook for many years at Paddy's Diner in Mingo and was a member of St. Adalbert Catholic Church in Dillonvale, OH. In addition to her parents, Veronica was preceded in death by her husband Basil in 2000 and her two brothers Julius and Edward Verhovec. Surviving is her son James and his wife Brenda Colabelli of Rayland, her daughter Janice and her husband Rocco Petrozzi of Lewis Center, OH; five grandchildren, Rocco (Elissa) Petrozzi, Joseph (Dalla) Petrozzi, Angela (Nick) Leone, James (Trisha) Colabelli and Melissa (Brent) Sobleski; twelve great-grandchildren; her sister Carolyn Verhovec and three brothers William Verhovec, Donald (Barb) Verhovec both of Rayland and Tony (Polly) Verhovec of Mingo Jct., OH. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 6-8 pm and on Friday 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Homes, Inc. 107 Hill St. in Smithfield, OH. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be held on Saturday at 9:30 am with Msgr. John Kolesar as Celebrant. Additional visitation held at the church on Saturday from 8:45 am til Mass at 9:30. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Steubenville, OH. Wake Service will be held on Friday at 7:30 pm.
