Victor E. Ferrari, Jr., 87, of Smithfield, OH, passed away Sunday, December 2, 2012 in the East Ohio Regional Hospital in Martins Ferry, OH.Vic was born December 28, 1924 in Piney Fork, OH, son of the late Victor and Mary (Huml) Ferrari, Sr. Vic was a member of the Smithfield Presbyterian Church; he was retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel working in the Steubenville Plant in the Foundry. Vic also was a US Navy Veteran having served his country in WWII.In addition to his parents, Vic was preceded in death by his sisters, Eileen Ford, Mary Agnes Captor and Dorothy Wilton.Vic leaves behind his wife of 65 years, Ruth Turner Ferrari of home whom he married on October 30, 1947; his daughter Susan (Rex) Panepucci of Dillonvale, OH; his three sons, Chris and Victor L. Ferrari both of Smithfield, OH and Jon Ferrari of PA; his two sisters, Natalie Straus of Smithfield, OH and Eleanor Cooper of Washington, PA; his brother Robert (Gilda) Ferrari of Columbus, OH. Victor is also survived by six grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, Dec. 5 from 2-8pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Smithfield, OH where his funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11am. Wally Jancura will celebrate his service and burial will follow in Holly Memorial Gardens in Colerain, OH where there will be Military Honors presented by the American Legion.
