Virgel A. Andy Moran, 70, of Toronto, OH, passed away Friday Feb. 10, 2017 in Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA surrounded by his loving family.
Andy was born April 12, 1946 in Steubenville, OH, son of the late Earl and Mary (Wolfe) Moran.
He was retired from Colliers Steel Co., where he worked in operations and he also was a plant superintendent at Mountaineer Bolt Co. in Wellsburg, WV.
Andy was a former EMT and Captain of the New Manchester, WV Vol. Fire Dept. Along with his brother, he started the first Boy Scout Troop in New Manchester and he enjoyed being a driver for the Toronto High School Marching Band.
In addition to his parents, Andy was preceded in death by his five brothers, Earl Jr., Clifford, William Tiny, Norman and Noah Moran; three sisters, Gladys Tinker McHenry, Mary Hartsouk and Virginia Vogle and his grandson, Jay Andrew Raudales Bonilla.
Surviving is his wife, Carol Lynn (Jones) Moran, whom he married on Feb. 21, 1986; two daughters, Kim (Tim) Proul and Tammy (Pastor Rick) Anderson all of New Cumberland, WV; two step-children, Julie Abrams of Los Angeles, CA and Chad McVicker and Kelly of Wintersville, OH; nine grandchildren, Andrew (Michelle) Bradley, Shawn (Katie) Bradley and Samantha Clothier, Bobby and Stacey Camerlin, Alexis and Jared McVicker, Grace Ensminger McVicker and Luke McVicker; eight great-grandchildren, Keira, Drew, Aiden and Caroline Bradley, Kyler, Domonic and Cody George and Kylee Clothier.
Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2017 from 4-8 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home 701 Findley St. in Toronto. His funeral service will be held on Thursday Feb. 16 at 11 am at the funeral home. Pastor Rick Anderson will officiate and burial will follow in Toronto Union Cemetery.
