Virginia B. Mammy Carpenter, 77, of Toronto, OH, passed away Tuesday, October 21, 2014 in Country Club Manor in Steubenville, OH.

Virginia was born April 3, 1937 in Glen Robins, OH, daughter of the late Thomas and Mary Lopetza Toland.

She was Methodist by faith and she had a love for music, traveling and most importantly her family.

In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin who passed in 2011; her brothers, Robert and Joseph Toland.

Virginia leaves behind her son, Roger L. (fianc Connie Conger) Carpenter of Irondale, OH; her daughter, Melva J. (Ron) Devore of Mingo Jct., OH; two granddaughters, Shawnna Carpenter Newburn of Mooresville, NC and Shannon (Richard) Gardner of Toronto; two step-grandsons, Ronald (Debbie) Devore, Jr. of Mingo Jct. and Lucas Devore of Smithfield, OH; two great-grandchildren, Jace Carpenter and Rilee Gardner; her sister, Shirley Payne of CA and her sister-in-law, Irma Toland of Youngstown, OH.

Visitation for Virginia will be held on Thursday, Oct. 23 from 4-8 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto, OH, where her funeral service will be held on Friday at 11 am. Pastor Dan Crowe will officiate her service and entombment will follow in Ft. Steuben Burial Estates in Wintersville, OH.
