Virginia A. (Koon) Cooper, 97, of Smithfield, OH, passed away Saturday, Nov. 23 in the NHC Health Care Facility in Dunlap, TN near the home of her daughter.Virginia was born Dec. 16, 1915 in Weems, OH, daughter of the late Rosco C. and Ella Scott Koon. She was a member of the Smithfield United Methodist Church, Smithfield Order of Eastern Stars and Smithfield Women's Club. In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her husband whom she married on Sept. 2, 1939, Donald Cooper, Sr. who passed in 1980; her three sisters, Betty Martin, Mary Morris and Ruth Burriss; her brother Ross Koon and her grandson Daniel Cooper.She leaves behind her children, son Donald Cooper, Jr. of St. Clairsville, OH, daughter Linda (Garth) Beany of Signal Mountain, TN; her brother Robert Koon of Wheeling, WV; three grandchildren, Tim (Debbie) Beany of Huntersville, NC, Heather (Al) Allison of Chattanooga, TN and Beth (Marty) Cline of Delaware, OH; five great-grandchildren and eight nieces and nephews.Visitation for Virginia will be held on Friday, Nov. 29 from 4-7 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Smithfield, OH where her funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11 am. Rev. Deborah Gable will officiate the service and private burial will follow in Ft. Steuben Burial Estates in Wintersville, OH. Memorial donations may be made in her memory to the charity of the donor's choice.
