Virginia R. (Lowry) Cummings, 79, of Toronto, Ohio passed away at her home on Friday June 3, 2011.Virginia was born April 2, 1932 in Clarksburg, WV, daughter of the late Hubert and Lucy Elizabeth (Woodford) Lowry. Virginia was a homemaker raising eight children. She was a member of St. Francis R.C. Church on Toronto, the C.W.C. of the church, and a long time Den Mother for Cub Scout Pack # 46 of St. Francis Church where she was the first woman to receive the Silver Fawn Award in Scouting. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by pre-term twins in 1971. Virginia is survived by her husband Harry E. Cummings Jr., whom she married on April 19, 1952; her eight children, Margaret "Meg" (Donald) Reed of Toronto, OH, Deborah (Richard) Pykosz of Weirton, WV, Harry E. (Suzanne) Cummings III of Orlando, FL, James David ( Lorna) Cummings of NC, Charles Richard (Janie) Cummings of Toronto, OH, Thomas Lowry Cummings and his companion Jackie Cavanaugh of Toronto, OH, Joseph Michael (Sue) Cummings of Streetsboro, OH, and Elizabeth "Beth" (Paul) Zdinak of Stratton, OH; Virginia also leaves behind her 17 Grandchildren, 3 Great-Grandchildren and 3 Step-Great-Grandchildren; her sister Lucy (Paul) Yankee of GA, her brother James W. Lowry of FL, and her caregivers Vickie and Mary McCoy. Visitation will be held for Virginia on Tuesday, June 7 from 7-9 pm and again on Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home, Inc., 701 Findley St. Toronto, OH. On Thursday everyone will meet at St. Francis Church on Findley St. where visitation will take place from 10:00 am up until the time of Virginia's Funeral Liturgy with Mass at 11:00 am with Fr. Thomas Vennitti as Celebrant. Burial will follow in Toronto Union Cemetery. A Vigil Service will be on Wednesday at 3:30 pm.
