Wilford James ‘Bill’ Swearingen, 82, of Toronto, OH, passed away Wednesday, May 27, 2026, in the Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.

Bill was born March 31, 1944, in Steubenville, OH, son of the late Wilford H. and Theresa (Choma) Swearingen.

He worked for 33 years, in Quality Control, at Hancock Manufacturing Co. in Toronto, and later retired from Seven Ranges Co. in Carrollton, OH.

Bill attended Bell Chapel Church. He was a 1962 graduate of J.U. High School, and a member of Dyer County Club.

Bill served his country, in the US Army, during the Vietnam War. 

He leaves behind his wife, Rosemary (Kurty) Swearingen, whom he married May 20, 1967; children, Christine (Paul) Medore of NJ, Theodore Swearingn of Toronto, Thomas Swearingen of Leadville, CO, and Mary (Scott) Weeks of Gentry, AR; sister, Barbara Stratton of Columbus, OH, and brother, Daniel (Lori) Swearingen of Toronto; four grandchildren, Melinda Morris, Josh Lucas, Erin Lucas, and Tim Swearingen, and one great-grandson, Alphonse ‘AJ’ Swearingen.

In keeping with Bill’s wishes, he will be cremated, and no services will be held at this time. Arrangements are in the care of the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto.
