William V. "Bill" Anderson, 76, of Toronto, OH, passed away Sunday, August 9, 2009 in Trinity Med. Center West in Steubenville.Bill was born on February 17, 1933, son of the late Walter C. and Helen B. (Ullstrom) Anderson. Bill was a member of St. Paul Episcopal Church in Steubenville. He was a 1951 graduate of Big Red High School and a member of the Big Red Boosters; he was a former choir member and vestryman at St. Paul's Church. Bill was also retired from Weirton and National Steel Companies and was a US Veteran having served in the Navy.Bill was a very active member in the Masonic Lodge and his history includes, Toronto Lodge # 583, AASR, Valley of Steubenville, Honorary Member of Supreme Council 33rd Degree, Past Sovereign Prince, Past Most Wise Master, and Past Commander-in-Chief, Valley of Steubenville, Royal Arch Masons Toronto Chapter #221, Union Council #2, and Steubenville Commandery #11.In addition to his parents Bill was preceded in death by two brothers, Dale and Larry Anderson and a sister, Joanne Sample.Bill is survived by his wife, Stella "Peggy" (Alcock) Anderson of home whom he married on October 21, 1961; son Robert Stuart Anderson of Sunny Isles Beach, FL; son David W. (Anne) Anderson of Gahanna, OH; three grandchildren, Zachary, Chase and Loren. He is also survived by 6 nephews. Visitation for Bill will be held on Wednesday from 7-9pm and again on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto, OH. Masonic Services will be held on Wednesday at 7pm. Friends and family will again meet at the funeral home on Friday at 10am and then Bill's funeral service will be held at 11am at St. Paul Episcopal Church in Steubenville, OH with Fr. Steven McKeown officiating. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery in Steubenville.
