William Howard "Bill" Bucey Sr. 79 of Toronto, Ohio passed away Wednesday Dec. 15, 2004 in the Palliative Care Unit of Valley Hospice. Bill was born Aug. 29, 1925 in Toronto, Ohio, son of the late Howard M. and Mary B. Karaffa Bucey. Bill served his country for 22 years in the U.S. Army and retired as a Master Sergeant in 1964. Bill saw combat action in World War II and the Korean Conflict. Bill's Decorations and Honors awarded him include; Bronze Star with Oak leaf cluster; Purple Heart with two oak leaf clusters; Army Commendation Medal; Good Conduct metal with six knots (awarded seven times); European Theater of OperationsRibbon with four battle stars; Korean Theater of Operations ribbon with five battle stars; United Nations Service Medal; Korean Presidental Citation; and U.S. Presidental Citation. After retiring from active duty, Bill went to work for The Ohio Edison Co., in the Toronto Power Plant until his retirement. Bill is a member of the 1st. United Methodist Church in Toronto; Toronto Masonic Lodge # 583 F&AM, Dyer Country Club and The Toronto American Legion Post # 86. In addition to his parents; Bill was preceded in death by his wife; Mary Louise Crotty Bucey in 2001 and an infant Sister. Surviving are; his Son; William H. and his wife Cathy Bucey Jr. of Lisbon, Three Grandsons; Lt. Commander William H. "Bud" and his wife Micca BuceyIII of Virginia Beach, Va., Brent A. Bucey of Cuyahoga Falls, and State Trooper Bradley M. and his wife Lesley Bucey of Bryan, Ohio. Two Sister; Dorothy (Elbert) Grill and Mary Ellen "Sugie" (Oliver "Pickels") Waggoner both of Toronto; Four Brothers, Paul ( Patsy) Bucey of Corpus Christi Texas, David (Joyce) Bucey of Mentor, Ohio; Daniel (Pamela) Bucey of Huntsville, Alabama; John (Kathy) Bucey of Westerville, Ohio. Friends and Family may call on Saturday at the 1st. United Methodist Church Sixth and Main St. in Toronto from 12 noon up til time of Bill's Service at 2:00 pm. Rev. Kevin Rinkes will officiate and a private burial will take place in Toronto Union Cemetery. J. E.
