William G. "Bill" Kulstad, 75, of Bloomfield, CO, formerly of Toronto, OH, passed away Monday, August 25, 2025 in Louisville, CO.

Bill was born October 26, 1949, in St. Paul, MN, son of the late William M. and Alberta (Applen) Kulstad. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Judy Turk and Laura Kulstad.

While illness took a lot from him in the end, it could never take the values of trustworthiness, loyalty, and helpfulness--a Scout's rules for living. He lived these truths daily, through quiet acts of service within the community to his gift as a speech therapist, serving three generations of families in Edison Local School District.

He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Toronto, the Nativity of our Lord Catholic Church in CO, a former member of the Sunrise Seniors of Toronto, former member and president of the Richmond Lions Club and a former secretary and lifetime member of the NAACP.

Bill was also a former Boy Scout Leader in Troop 20 in Richmond, OH and staffer at Ft Steuben Scout Reservation where he trained generations in Boy Scout basics and character lessons that would shape them into young men. His brilliance was renowned, and he was known for his niche interests on many topics like Civil War history, Reds Baseball, gardening, and The Rolling Stones.

He always lived by his inner compass pointing towards kindness, truth, and service and walked the Scout trail with honor-- marked by integrity, respect, and love of the outdoors. Like the many campfires his loved ones remember sitting around with him--he brought warmth and light to all he encountered.

In the end, he is remembered for his generosity and the lives he brought together with friendship and support. Like a perfectly practiced square knot, he is remembered as being strong and dependable and true. And--like the Eagle he was, he will be remembered for all the lives he lifted up along his trail of life.

Bill leaves behind his wife, Susan (Skrabak) Kulstad; three daughters, Marlene (Greg) Hebner of CO, Michele (Mike) Argyres of WI, and Nancy (Michael) Davis of TX; two sons, William (Erin) Kulstad and Sean (Danielle) Kulstad also both of CO, and nine grandchildren

Family and friends will be received Friday, Sept. 5 from 4 PM to 7 PM at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto. Additional viewing will take place on Saturday from 9:15 to 10 AM at the St. Francis Catholic Church in Toronto with Mass to follow at 10 AM. Fr. Thomas Vennitti will celebrate, and burial will follow in the Island Creek Cemetery in Toronto.
