William E. "Bill" Landis, 90, of Wintersville, OH, passed away Thursday, Aug. 22, 2024, in the Valley Hospice Care Center in Steubenville, OH.

Bill was born Nov. 23, 1933, in New Somerset, OH, son of the late Edward Grover and Mary Ella (Richards) Landis.

He was retired from DeNoon Lumber where he worked as a mechanic and operator. Bill was also a former Brush Creek Twp. Trustee.

Bill was a member of the Pine Grove Community Church, PrimeTime and "Our Place" both of Steubenville. He was a volunteer and participated in the Relay For Life events in Jefferson Co. He loved to fish and was an all-around Mr-Fix-It.

He and his wife Jo started and managed the Bergholz Twirlettes, and he proudly drove his truck in all the local parades. They also together owned and managed the Landis Sandwich Shop in Salineville.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his wife Josephine M. "Jo" Landis, granddaughter Jamie Rose, sons-in-law Mike Rice and Nate Fellows, and siblings, Estella Rhodes, Blanche Hudson, Edith Moore, Carl Landis, John Landis, Macel Workman and Ginny Keenan.

Bill leaves behind his five daughters, Cathy Dyer of Florida, Karen (Roger) Beckwith of Erie, PA, Debbie Rice (Bob Millhorn) of Toronto, Judy Fellows of Steubenville, and Lori (John) Harris also of Wintersville; 17 grandchildren, Billie Jo Piverotto, Misty Bitgood, Jason Springer, Alisa Paice, Shellie Balogh, Jodie Patterson, Sheena Rose Hayes, Emily Russell, Jeremy Allen, Corey Fellows, Kristen Fellows, Joey Peach, Alexis Peach, Lexi Kasadora, Alyssa Harris, Amanda Harris and Austin Harris; 27 great-grandchildren, Madison, Cameron, Hunter, Austin, Haley, Eric, Brandon, Nathan, Logan, Ella, Dakota, Kaelyn, Landon, Dakota, Braiden, Rylen, Carson, Caden, Brooklyn, Bailey, Sincere, Kayanna, Colton, Hayden, Jonah, Aurora and Lucas; 1 great-great granddaughter, Ellie Jo and more on the way; Bills girlfriend, Faye Zook Jones, and his kitty "Peaches".

Visitation for Bill will be held on Sunday, Aug. 25 from 2 PM to 6 PM at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto where his funeral service will take place on Monday at 11 AM. Pastor Amanda Crews will officiate, and burial will follow in the Pine Grove Cemetery. www.jefosterfh.com
