Agnes I. Demko

Agnes I. Demko, 92, of Stratton, OH, passed away peacefully Monday, May 1, 2023, in the Trinity Medical Center West in Steubenville, OH.

Agnes was born Sept. 26, 1930, in her house in Stratton, where she lived all her life. She was the daughter of the late George and Mary (Karaffa) Demko. She was also preceded in death by her three sisters, Anna Demko Manning, Mary Jane Demko, and Helen Demko, who passed away at nine years old.

She retired from the Ohio Edison Co. Sammis Plant in Stratton, with 30 years of service, as Clerk of the Board of Public Affairs.

Agnes was an active member of the St. Joseph Byzantine Catholic Church, Choir, and Ladies Guild in Toronto. She was also a member of the Toronto High School Alumni Assoc.

During her youth, she enjoyed attending dances and socials with her sisters and friends. Agnes was a loving aunt who was known for being so kind and compassionate.

Agnes leaves behind two nieces, Marcia (Michael) Lewis of Toronto, and Nancy (David) Robinson of Owasso, OK; great nieces and nephews, Chelsea Quattrone, Matthew (Katie) Powell, Ryan (Jen) Robinson, and Adam (Harriett) Robinson; great-great nieces and nephews, Madison Brown, Giovanna and Gabriella Quattrone, Scarlett, Arden, and Fiorella Powell, and Riley, Aiden, and Jack Robinson.

A Funeral Service for Agnes will be held on Monday, May 8 at 1:30 PM at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto. Family and friends will be received from 11 am to 1:30 PM. Rev. Fr. John Kapitan, Jr. OFM will officiate, and burial will follow in the Toronto Union Cemetery. www.jefosterfh.com
