Angel Joy Allen

Angel Joy Allen, 54, of Steubenville, OH, formerly of Toronto, OH, passed away suddenly Monday Aug. 7, 2023, in the emergency room at Trinity West in Steubenville.

Angel was born Nov. 4, 1968, in Steubenville, daughter of the late Richard W. ‘Dick’ and Janet (Sherwood) Allen.

Angel formerly worked at the Jeffco Workshop and for PALS in Steubenville.

She was a member of the First Methodist Church in Toronto, where she was a member of the Bell Choir. Angel was involved with the M&M Ministries at the Toronto Nazarene Church. She also participated in the Special Olympics, where she was a State Champion bowler and swimmer.

In addition to her parents, Angel was preceded in death by her stepmother, Delma Allen.

Surviving is her brother, Richard S. Allen of Slinger, WI; three sisters, Susan I.  (Chelsea) Clegg and Lynn Stuart of Toronto, and Lori (Brian) McCourt of MS; several nieces and a nephew, including Sophia Allen of Slinger, WI. Angel loved her aunt, Marie Allen, and her many special cousins.

Angel’s family wishes to say THANK YOU to all of her caregivers from Rescare.

Visitation will take place on Friday Aug. 11 from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto. Her funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10:30 am at the funeral home. Rev. Kevin Rinkes will officiate, and burial will follow in the Toronto Union Cemetery.
