Anita Sierra Ruiz Glenn

Ana Sierra Ruiz Glenn, better known as Anita or LaLa, 83, of Toronto, OH, passed away Wednesday, October 27, 2021, in the Trinity Medical Center West ER in Steubenville, OH.

Anita was born April 21, 1938 in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain. She is the daughter of the late Francisco Sierra and Manuela (Ruiz) Sierra. She lived in Spain until she met/married her late husband, William ‘Bill’ Glenn on Jan. 12, 1966.

Anita was a beautiful individual and loved spending time with her family. Many people describe her as “one-of-a-kind” and “unforgettable.” She was everyone’s LaLa! She truly enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren in sports. Watching “her” Pittsburgh Pirates (and Steelers) was also something she looked forward to often! She will be so dearly missed.

She was a member of the St. Francis Roman Catholic Church in Toronto.

In addition to her parents and her husband ‘Bill’, Anita was preceded in death by daughter, Cathy Glenn (Bert Gibbs), sister-in-law, Arlene Glenn, and her siblings (all of Spain), sisters, Rosario, Carmela, and Cecilia, and brothers, Francisco, and Manuel.

LaLa leaves behind her children, Glenda (Kenny) Ickes of Florida, Larry (Lynda) Glenn of Toronto, and Melissa (Jon Solomon) Glenn of Toronto. Her greatest joys in her life were her grandchildren, Casandra Gibbs (Justin Sabo), Tiffani Gibbs, Macy Gibbs (great grandsons Mayson and Kai), Katie Ickes (great-granddaughter Bailey), Kellie Ickes, Cody Ickes, Kasie Ickes, Chez Glenn, Blaze Glenn, Jazalyn Glenn, and Bill Solomon. Also, Anita is survived by many nieces and nephews in Spain; she adored them all.

Keeping Anita’s wishes, no services will be held, and the burial will be held at the convenience of her family. There will be a Mass said for Anita on Sunday, December 12 at 11:00 am at the St. Francis Catholic Church in Toronto. All friends and family are welcome to attend.
