Bernadette C. Kondik, 98, of Toronto, OH, passed away Thursday Sept. 2, 2021, in Trinity Medical Center West in Steubenville, OH.
Bernadette was born April 19, 1923, in Toronto, daughter of the late Frank and Lena (Straka) Perun.
She was a retired nurse, having worked for Dr. Elmer McGraw, and the former Gill and St. John’s Hospitals.
Bernadette was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Toronto, CWC of the church, and the Dyer Country Club Women’s League.
In addition to her parents, Bernadette was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Nov. 12, 2007, son Francis, grandson Nathan Lowe, aunts Anna and Amelia Straka, who raised Bernadette, and an infant sister.
Surviving is her daughter, Kathleen (Steve) Lowe of Wintersville, OH; three granddaughters, Deanne (Mark) Magolis of Indiana, PA, Bethany (Adam) Barnes of U.S. Army in Texas, Laurynn Kondik of Utah; four great-grandchildren, Kierce and Lena Magolis, Paxton and Pierce Francis Barnes.
Visitation will be held Tuesday Sept. 7, 2021, at the St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church 1225 N. River Ave. in Toronto, from 9:30 - 10:30 am. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will follow at 10:30 am. Father Thomas Vennitti will celebrate, and she will be laid to rest in the Toronto Union Cemetery at a later date.
