Carol M. (Lowe) Bartels, 86, of Kent, OH, formerly of Toronto, OH, passed away Thursday Jan. 7, 2021 at the Altercare of Hartville, OH.
Carol was born April 30, 1934, in Rutledge, MO, daughter of the late Arthur and Freda (McPherson) Lowe.
She was a teacher, in the Edison Local School District, until her retirement. Carol was a member of the N.E.A., O.E.A. and the Jefferson Co. Retired Teachers.
In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Bartels, July 4, 2014; her two sisters, Elizabeth Hudson, Virginia Happel and her brother, John Lowe.
Surviving are her two daughters, Bridgett (Kevin) Norris of Mogadore, OH and Alice (Bob) Simpson of Indianapolis, IN; her son, Timothy (Diane) Bartels of Greensburg, PA; seven grandchildren, Jennifer (Jason) McCormick, Eric (Elizabeth) Norris, Brenda (Russ) Johnston, Elizabeth (David) Deker, Mark (Sara) Bartels, Adam Workman, and Aaron (Kristin) Workman, and fourteen great-grandchildren.
A private service for Carol’s family will be held Tuesday Jan. 12, 2021, at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto. Pastor Jeff Haynes will officiate, and entombment will follow in the Ft. Steuben Burial Estates in Wintersville, OH. A memorial service celebrating Carol’s life will be held at a later date.
