Catherine M. (Werntz) Roth

Catherine M. ‘Kitty’ Roth, 89, of Toronto, OH, passed away Saturday, June 22, 2019 in the Memories of Marie Home in Toronto.

Kitty was born Sept. 29, 1929 in Toronto, daughter of the late George and Mary (Aurand) Werntz.

She was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church and the Sunrise Senior Group both in Toronto. Her memberships at the church included the CWC, the Funeral Luncheon Committee and the Comfort Bears Group.            

Kitty was a retired Registered Nurse having worked at both Gill Memorial and Ohio Valley Hospitals in Steubenville. She enjoyed line dancing and playing cards with her friends in the senior group.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Roth, her daughter, Patricia, her infant daughter Deborah, her sister Helen Maggard, her brother James Werntz, two grandsons, John T. Kell, Jr. and Donald Kell and her sister-in-law, Diana Werntz.

Kitty leaves behind her four daughters, Kathy Simmering, Susan (John) Kell, Sally (Mark) Ludewig and Cristine (Marty) Thompson all of Toronto; her seven grandchildren, Amy (John) Rice, Heather (Jim) Zellar, Tara (Scott) Talkington, Lindsay (Jared) Pinkerton, Mitchell (Nicole Weiss) Ludewig, Jessica (Jake) McClain and Brien (Kasey) Thompson; eleven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and her nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received Tuesday, June 25 from 4 – 6 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be held Wednesday at 11 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Toronto. There will be additional visitation Wednesday in the rear of the church from 10:15 – 11 am. Msgr. Gerald Calovini will celebrate Mass and burial will follow in Toronto Union Cemetery.
