Catherine M. 'Katie' (Gabriel) Tizziani

Catherine M. ‘Katie’ Tizziani, 86, of Toronto, OH, passed away Friday January 8, 2021 at the Laurels of Steubenville.

Katie was born March 23, 1934 in Apollo, PA, daughter of the late Antonio Gabriel and Sophie (Budzelik) Gabriel Carr.

Katie was a homemaker, who in the past tended bar at Margaret’s Café and the Toronto American Legion. She also was a caregiver to many residents of Toronto, who all loved her dearly.

She was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Toronto.

In addition to her parents, Katie was preceded in death by husband, Lino J. Tizziani on July 10, 1997, her son Father Mario J. Tizziani on December 26, 2020, her grandson Jason Motto on Aug. 4, 2002, her sister Ramona Wenner, her brother Leonard, her son-in-law Tom Anderson, and her brother-in-law Gino Tizziani.

Surviving are her two daughters, Esther Anderson and Gina (Joe) Motto both of Toronto; her two sons, Daniel (Maggie) Tizziani of Toronto, and Anthony (Lisa) Tiziani of Conklin, NY; her brother, Joe (Toni) Gabriel of Pawleys Island, SC; twelve grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.

A Funeral Liturgy with Mass will take place Wednesday Jan. 13 at 11 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Toronto. Visitation will be held in the rear of the church from 10 AM til time of the Mass. Father Thomas Vennitti will celebrate and burial will follow in Toronto Union Cemetery.
