Charles Robert ‘Bob’ Reeves, 75 of Toronto, Ohio died on Thursday, August 17th, at the Weirton Medical Center surrounded by his family.
Above all else, he was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather. He was most happy being at home.
After graduating from Toronto High School in 1967 he enlisted in the United States Army and served his country in the Vietnam War. He then worked at Hancock Manufacturing and graduated from Franciscan University of Steubenville.
Beginning in 1982, he worked for Toronto City Schools serving as teacher, coach, athletic director and high school principal until his retirement in 2007. He later served on the Toronto City Schools Board of Education for 8 years. Mr. Reeves especially loved his students.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob T. Reeves and Madge (Sinnett) Reeves. Also preceding him in death was a sister, Charlotte (Reeves) Gatton, brothers Jake Reeves and Richard Reeves, and niece Suzanne Kresser.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years and best friend of 59 years, Catherine (Sweeney) Reeves. Also surviving are his sons, Bobby Reeves and Andy (Kasey) Reeves, a daughter, Katie (Bryan) Mills and two grandsons, Brant Reeves and Dugan Mills, five granddaughters, Andrea and Jayna Reeves, and Carmen, Mae, and Willa Mills.
He also leaves behind his sisters, Jan (Reeves) Buchanan and her husband Clint, and Dorothy (Reeves) Gault-Clouse and three brothers, Jeff Reeves, Nelson (Jeannie) Reeves, and Clifford (Inga) Reeves, along with nieces and nephews, Sherri Wilson, Shanley Slike, Clint Buchanan, Michelle Rawson, Tommy Buchanan and Stephanie Dugan.
A private funeral service will be held at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto with Rev. Jason Elliott. Bob will be laid to rest in the Toronto Union Cemetery.
