Clifford F. 'Buzz' Maffett

Clifford Franklin ‘Buzz’ Maffett, 85, of Toronto, OH, passed away Thursday, June 29, 2023, in the Brightwood Nursing Center in Follansbee, WV.

Buzz was born March 8, 1938, in Toronto, son of the late Samuel and Dorothy (Littlecott) Maffett.

He was retired from the Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. where he worked in the Mechanical Dept. of the 80-Inch. Buzz was a Veteran of the US Army and a Life-Member of the NRA.

In addition to his parents, Buzz was preceded in death by his wife, Edwina G. ‘Eddy Gayle’ (Ward) Maffett, grandson Jeff Maffett, brothers, Tom, Charles, and Sam Maffett.

Buzz leaves behind two sons, Guy S. (Corie) Maffett of Kernersville, NC, and Shannon L. (Faith) Maffett of Cherokee, KS; sister, Nancy Elson of Toronto; brother, John (Diane) Maffett of Toronto; two grandchildren, Carter and Kelsey; two great-grandchildren, Blayke and Caden; sisters-in-law, Joyce Maffett, Wanda Maffett both of Toronto.

A Memorial Service for Buzz will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2023, at 2 PM at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto. Rev. Kevin Rinkes will officiate and a luncheon will follow at the First Methodist Church in Toronto.

Memorial donations may be directed to the TEMS Joint Ambulance District in Toronto.
