Constance ‘Connie’ Erb, 83 of Plum Run, OH, passed away peacefully Monday, Sept. 11, 2023, at her home surrounded by her family.
Connie was born March 1, 1940, in Plum Run, daughter of the late Markus and Erma (Reinagle) Meszaros.
Connie was a 1958 graduate of Smithfield High School where she was crowned the May Day Queen and was on the Homecoming Court. She loved her school years and talked about them often. She loved to do yard work and decorate her home, both inside and out, for the holidays, especially Christmas.
She was a great cook, excellent baker, and no one made pies like our mom. Connie was very proud of her Hungarian heritage. She loved the summer holidays, cooking and having big family get-togethers in her garage where she had a kitchen set up always full of great and different foods. Connie loved to go on vacations with family to Ocean City, MD, where they have been going for over 40 years.
In addition to her parents, Connie was preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, Charles J. Erb, Sr. (2018), and her beloved and dearly missed son, Charles J. ‘Chuckie’ Erb, Jr., (2014); three brothers and 1 sister.
Connie leaves behind two daughters, Tammy (Steve) Kinyo of Bradley, OH, and Tonya (John) Erb Cosinuke of Toronto; two grandsons, Anthony Kinyo of Plum Run and Andre Kinyo of Smithfield; two of the most precious little ladies in her life, two great-granddaughters, Aubrie and Addison of Toronto; sister, Donna (Eugene) Costello of Plum Run; animal companion, big boy Tigger ‘Tiddie’.
Mom will be deeply missed by her loving family, especially by her guardian angel Tonya, who cared for her every need. We love you mom so much. We are not saying goodbye but see you later.
Per Connie’s wishes, private services will be held at the convenience of her family. Arrangements are in the care of the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Smithfield, OH.
