Curtis W. VanDyke, Sr., 76, of Irondale, OH, passed away Friday, Jan. 13, 2023, in the Trinity Medical Center West in Steubenville, OH.
Curt was born Oct. 14, 1946, in Irondale, son of the late Clifford and Eva (McVeigh) VanDyke.
He was retired from Swank Refractories where he worked as a brick setter.
In addition to his parents, Curt was preceded in death by his daughter, Melissa Byers on Dec. 4, 2022, great-grandson Zachary VanDyke, sisters Verna Weaver and Gertrude Russell, brother-in-law James Spicer.
Curt leaves behind his wife, Karen A. (Kreefer) VanDyke whom he married June 25, 1988; five children, Curtis W. (Cindy) VanDyke, Jr. of Bloomingdale, OH, Tonya R. VanDyke and partner Joe Fowler, Joshua (Jamee) VanDyke of Irondale, Richard Byers all of Irondale, and Troy (Trish) Palomino of Steubenville; sister, Joyce Spicer of Irondale; brother, Harold (Elaine) VanDyke of Wellsville, OH; chosen brothers, Dick and Bob Millhorn and families of Toronto; ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation for Curt will be held Wednesday, Jan. 18 from 11 am to 1 pm followed by his funeral service at 1 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto. Tina Corder will officiate, and burial will follow in the Sugar Grove Cemetery in Toronto. www.jefosterfh.com
