Daniel C. Rice

Daniel C. ‘Clair’ Rice, 71, of Toronto, OH, passed away Tuesday, June 5, 2018 in the Trinity Medical Center West ER in Steubenville, OH.

Dan was born Sept. 25, 1946 in Clarksburg, WV, son of the late William and Betty (Hayhurst) Rice.

He was retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Coke Plant. Dan was a Veteran of the US Army having served in the Vietnam War. He was also a member of the Edison Band Road Warriors and the Ohio American Legion.

In addition to his parents, Dan was preceded in death by his three brothers, Mike, Jim and Jerry Rice.

Dan leaves behind his wife, Betty A. (Millhorn) Rice whom he married Aug. 16, 1969; his four daughters, Heather (Fred) Minkemeyer of Smithfield, OH, Hollie (Chris) Markert of Stratton, OH, Christina (Jason) Carson of Bergholz, OH and April Rice of Toronto; his four sisters, Judy (William) Orr of Irondale, OH, Carol Henthorne of Wellsville, OH, Pam (Danny) Channels of Toronto and Betty ‘Betsy’ (Richard) Brandt of Steubenville; his three brothers, John Rice, Robert (Terri) Rice and Gary Rice all of Toronto; his six grandchildren, Karlie, Michael, Kaitlyn, Brennan, Colton and Payton.

Family and friends will be received Friday, June 8 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto. His funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11 am at the funeral home with Rev. David Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Osage Cemetery in Toronto. www.jefosterfh.com
