Daryl V. ‘Sid’ Toothman, 85, of Steubenville, OH, passed away Saturday, Feb. 13, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family.
Sid was born Oct. 12, 1935 in Farmington, WV, son of the late Daryl W. and Phyllis (Atkinson) Toothman.
Sid worked in the Tin Mill Electrical Shop at Weirton Steel and retired with 40 years of service. He was a graduate of Steubenville High School and he loved Big Red Football and was a long-time season ticket holder.
His memberships included the Bell Chapel UMC, the Men’s Club of the Church and the Big Red Boosters. Sid was a Veteran of the US Army, Tenth Div. and he loved spending time at Leesville Lake.
In addition to his parents, Sid was preceded in death by his brother Ted (Kathie) Toothman.
Sid leaves behind his wife, Jane Ann (Long) Toothman, whom he married March 3, 1962; son, Jim (Angie) Toothman of Dellroy, OH; daughter, Nancy (David) Flood of Toronto; granddaughter, Jordan Cencarik of Toronto; several nieces and nephews and his loving animals.
Family and friends will be received Tuesday, Feb. 16 from 2 PM to 4 PM at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto. Sid’s Funeral Service will follow at 4 PM with Rev. Jeff Proya officiating.
