Edward G. Sembar, 91, of Toronto, OH, passed away May 19, 2020.
Edward was born April 24, 1929 in Toronto, son of the late George and Sophie (Jablonski) Sembar.
He was a 1946 graduate of Toronto High School and served in the US Navy aboard the USS Leyte Aircraft Carrier.
Edward retired from the Weirton Steel Corp. (Strip Steel Mill) in 1986. He was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church and the Toronto American Legion Post #86.
In addition to his parents, Edward was preceded in death by his sister, Jean Swearingen.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy (Pointer) Sembar; two sons, David of St. Louis, MO and Mark of Tampa, FL; his daughter, Judy (Jeff) Dickey of Toronto; brother, George (Donna) Sembar of Danville, IL; his sister, Florence ‘Honey’ Ogden of Detroit, MI; three grandsons, Ryan Dickey of Toronto, Michael Dickey of Steubenville and Joseph Sembar of Hilliard, OH.
A Memorial Mass will be held Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at 11 am at St. Francis Catholic Church in Toronto. Fr. Thomas Vennitti will officiate.
