Edwin J. Westfall, 78, of Weirton, WV, formerly of Toronto, OH, passed away Wednesday Sept. 6, 2023, in the Select Specialty Hospital in Weirton, WV.
Ed was born July 21, 1945, in Baltimore, MD, son of the late Elmer J. and Ona (Stout) Westfall.
Ed retired from the Weirton Steel Corp., where he was General Supervisor of the Welding Shop.
He was active in the Wintersville Church of Christ, serving as a deacon and trustee. Ed was also previously active with the Toronto Band Parents, the THS Band, Toronto Little League, the Pony League, and the Umpire’s Assoc.
Ed served his country during the Vietnam War, in the U.S. Navy.
Ed will always be remembered for his smile, sense of humor, compassion and great love for his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his son, Eric Westfall, who passed on May 25, 2023, and his brother, Vance Westfall.
Ed is survived by his wife, Janis (Ralston) Westfall; grandchildren, Jenna Westfall and Brandon Starner; three sisters, Glendora Paugh, Lenora (Jack) Gaines, and Linda (Bill) Griffith and many nieces and nephews.
A private Memorial Service for Ed will be held at the convenience of his family. Arrangements for Ed are in the care of the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto.
