Emilio John Pastre, 95, of Smithfield, OH, passed away Tuesday Feb. 11, 2020 in the Wheeling Hospital in Wheeling, WV.
Emilio was born Feb. 8, 1925 in Piney Fork, OH, son of the late Giovanni and Letizia (Modolo) Pastre.
He was retired from the Consolidated Coal Co., where he was a Maintenance Supervisor.
Emilio was a member of St. Adalbert Catholic Church in Dillonvale, OH, and the Piney Fork American Legion.
Emilio served his country in the European Campaign during WWII in the U.S. Army.
In addition to his parents, Emilio was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth (Domenick) Pastre in 2013; an infant son Emilio; three brothers, Joseph, Louis and John and one sister, Angeline Spontaneo.
Surviving is his son, Rick (Susan) Pastre of Smithfield; his daughter, Renee (Brian) Hanlin of Bloomingdale, OH; his sister, Nancy (Ed) Wells of Piney Fork; three grandchildren, Rick (Jocelyn) Pastre, Sarah (Nathan) White and Ashley (Tyler) Kirkland; three great-grandchildren, Samuel, Ellie and Halle.
Family and friends will be received Friday Feb. 14, from 2 to 8 PM, at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Smithfield where his funeral service will be held Saturday at 10 AM. Msgr. John Kolesar will officiate and burial will follow in Holly Memorial Gardens in Pleasant Grove, OH.
Military Honors will be presented at the cemetery by the Piney Fork American Legion Post #735. Memorial donations may be directed to Hounds Haven or the Jefferson Co. Humane Society. www.jefosterfh.com
