Gary Lee Bonnizzio

Gary Lee Bonnizzio, 72, of Toronto, OH, passed away Saturday Nov. 20, 2021, in Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.  

Gary was born May 19, 1949, in Steubenville, OH, son of the late Nick and Hattie J. "Ida" (Grygo) Bonnizzio.  

Gary was formerly employed by C&P Telephone Co. in Weirton, WV, and retired from the City of Toronto Water Dept.
 

Gary was a Veteran of the US Army, while in the service he was stationed in Germany.  

He was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church in Toronto, a 1967 graduate of Toronto High School, and enjoyed going to car cruises.  

Gary is survived by his wife, Christy (Tharp) Bonnizzio, whom he married April 18, 1970; son, Ryan (Stephanie) Bonnizzio of Twinsburg, OH, daughter, Darcy (Rod) Henry, and sister, Nikki Ann Cable both of Toronto. He loved his four grandchildren, Nick and Gabriella Bonnizzio, and Emma and Michael Henry.  

Visitation will be held Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2021 from 3 to 5 & 6 to 8 pm at the J. E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto. A vigil service will be held Tues. at 7:30 pm. Additional visitation will be held on Wednesday at St. Francis Church from 10 to 11 am followed by Funeral Liturgy with Mass at 11 am. Fr. Thomas Vennitti will celebrate and military honors will follow at the Toronto Union Cemetery.
