James V. Rampello, 86, formerly of Baltimore, MD, recently of Toronto, OH, passed away Sunday afternoon, April 3, 2022, at the Wyngate Senior Living Center in Weirton, WV.
James was born October 23, 1935, in Baltimore, son of the late Vincent Rampello, and Elizabeth (Preston) Rampello.
He graduated from the University of Maryland in 1956 and entered the Air Force as an Officer serving as a navigator on various planes. After his retirement from the military, he utilized his education in Mechanical Engineering to serve as a plant manager for Texas Instruments in Houston, Austin, and Dallas, TX.
After retiring from TI, he retired with his wife Doris T. (Heilman) Rampello whom he married on November 29, 1958, to Williamsburg, VA, and later Myrtle Beach, SC. After her passing on July 11, 2019, he moved to the Ohio Valley area to be closer to family.
After his retirement he and his wife enjoyed traveling including many cruises to many different locations. He was a lifelong member of the Roman Catholic Church.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his wife Doris, and his sister Josephine (Rocco) Pullifrone.
James leaves behind his sister, Elizabeth (Basil) Karukas of Maryland; his sons Vincent of Lawton, OK, and James (Bonnie) of Toronto, OH; his grandchildren Matthew of Garner, NC, and Jennifer of St. Petersburg, FL; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and nephews.
Family and friends will be received on Sunday April 10 from 1 pm to 3 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto. A service officiated by the Rev. Kevin Rinkes will follow at 3 pm at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA.
