Jeffrey Carl Myers, 66, of Steubenville, Ohio died on September 19, 2023, at Trinity West Medical Center.
Jeff was born July 3, 1957. He was blessed with wonderful parents, Carl and Mary Jane Myers and privileged to be raised in (UCLA) the Upper Corner of Lower Alikanna surrounded by extended family and friends. In addition to his mother, Mary Jane, Jeff was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Jack Salonica.
After graduating from Steubenville High School in 1975, Jeff attended and graduated from The Ohio State University with an Agronomy Degree with an emphasis in Golf Course Architectural Design in 1979.
Jeff cut his teeth playing golf and working at the Bellview Golf Course. While in college, he worked for a summer with Von Hagge/Devlin Design in Houston, Texas before working with his uncle, Karl Litten, in Golf Course Design. He later worked for Gary Player as a Golf Course Architect, before starting his own architectural firm, the JCM Group, Charlotte, N.C. Jeff designed, built, and remodeled many premier golf courses in the United States and around the world.
Jeff was a member of the Professional Golf Association, United States Golf Association, Golf Course Architects Society, Steubenville Country Club, “Our Place” Senior Activity Center, The Parkinson Association of the Carolinas, Edge Sports Steering Committee and First Westminster Presbyterian Church.
Jeff was a faithful, loyal, and resilient man. Jeff loved his family and was a friend and mentor to many. He was an avid bicyclist, and faithfully cheered for the Steubenville Big Red, The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Pittsburgh Steelers, Penguins and Pirates. Jeff enjoyed Sunday family dinners, playing golf with his buddies, and walking his dog, Molly.
Jeff is survived by his father Carl, daughter Kaitlyn (Blair) Morris, sister Becky Salonica, nieces Cherie (Ryan) Ramsey and Jessica (Scott) Nelson and great nephews and nieces: Isaiah, Bentley, Ethan, and Lillian. Jeff also leaves behind aunts and uncles: Nancy (Karl) Litten and Karol Rudy.
Visitation for Jeff will be held Tuesday, September 26 from 9 am to 11 am at First Westminster Presbyterian Church, 235 North Fourth Street Steubenville, OH 43952. A memorial service will follow at 11am with Rev. Jason Elliott.
