With our hearts full of beautiful memories and years, we want to share with dear loved ones and friends, that our beloved and precious mother, Joan Virginia (Wilson) Yeager, went to be with Jesus early Sunday morning, July 26, 2020.
Joan was born Nov. 16, 1922 in Davis, WV, daughter of the late Neil and Georgia (Kline) Wilson.
After the war, she met and married the love of her life John, to whom she remained married for 71 years. They moved to Weirton, WV in 1951 and then to Toronto, OH in 2008.
Mom loved the Lord with all of her heart, being very active in her church: Christ United Methodist Church in Weirton, later attending Riverview Methodist Church in Toronto. She depended on the Lord’s strength to carry her through the difficulties of life and knew that only He could give peace that passes all understanding.
Joan was an avid reader, loved a long walk and a nice warm fire on a fall evening. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, celebrating every single school grade, sporting event, graduation, or new career choice along the way. She was our best cheerleader.
In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her husband, John Yeager, Sr., her son, attorney John Yeager, Jr. of Weirton, two brothers and one sister.
Joan is survived by her four children, Sherry (Tony) Foglio of Toronto, Cyndy (Rusty) Fisher of Weirton, Tim (Marla) Yeager of Toronto and Nancy (Sars) Ballato of Colliers, WV; her daughter-in-law, Ethel Yeager of Weirton; her 10 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Due to the current Covid situation there will be no services. Joan’s family will celebrate with a private gathering. Her arrangements are in the care of the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto. www.jefosterfh.com
Joan knew that joy comes in the morning and she kept that joy and a smile on her face all day long and it remained her testimony until her last breath. Mom, we will love you forever and we will see you in the morning.
