John was a member of St Francis Catholic Church in Toronto, a Life Member of the American Legion, and the VFW. He belonged to the Knights of Columbus and Weirton Steel 25-year club.
John enjoyed bowling up to his mid 90’s. John had a gift of repairing anything that was broken and loved to spend time in the basement working on his special projects. He was very proud of his home as he built it himself in 1953. He almost achieved one of his goals in life and that was to reach 100 years of age, which he just missed by 6 months, still quite an accomplishment.
Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, April 26 from 6 to 9 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto. A Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be held on Thursday at 10:30am at St. Francis Catholic Church in Toronto. There is a viewing from 9:30 to 10:30 am at the Church prior to the Mass.
