Josephine J. (Martin) Putnam Moore, 94, of Toronto, OH, passed away Monday, Oct. 29, 2018 in the Valley Hospice Care Center North in Steubenville, OH.
Josephine was born Feb. 17, 1924 in Toronto, daughter of the late Joseph and Lillian (Morrow) Martin.
She was a retired Civil Servant for the U.S. Gov. having worked as an electrician on the Marine Corp. Base in Barstow, CA.
Josephine attended the First United Methodist Church in Toronto and she was a 50 Year member of the White Shrine where she was a Past Worthy High Priestess.
In addition to her parents, Josephine was preceded in death by her ten brothers and sisters and her two sons-in-law, Bob Maxwell and Rick Rinner.
Josephine leaves behind two sons, Thomas R. (Loretta) Putnam of Barstow, CA and Clyde E. ‘Ed’ (Connie) Putnam of Whittier, CA; three daughters, Barbara Maxwell of Columbus, OH, Donna Rinner Olsen of Steubenville, OH and Wanda J. (Richard) Koski of Toronto; two sisters, Mary Ann Lewis of Toronto and Joan Jones of Orrville, OH; 14 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received Sunday, Nov. 4 from 12 – 2 pm and 5 – 7 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto. Her funeral service will be Monday at 11 am at the funeral home. Rev. Kevin Rinkes will officiate and her burial will follow in Toronto Union Cemetery.
