Lola L. “Granny” Sutherin, 82, of Toronto, OH, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2022, at her home surrounded by her family.
Lola was born July 31, 1939, in Toronto, daughter of the late George and Mary Alice (Freshwater) Scott.
Lola was a 1957 graduate of Toronto High School. She retired from Toronto City Schools where she worked for 25 years as a cook in the cafeteria. She was also a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Toronto.
In addition to her parents, Lola was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh E. ‘Sonny’ Sutherin, Sr., her brother George Scott and her sister, Sharon Robinson.
Lola leaves behind her daughter, Paige L. Wilson and husband Tom of Toronto; two sons, Hugh E. ‘Hoop’ Sutherin, Jr. and wife Tammy of Richmond, OH, and Jerry S. Sutherin and wife Joanne of Kent, OH; grandchildren, Abbey Wilson, Tommy (Mary) Wilson, Adam (Kirsten) Sutherin, Eric Sutherin, Brittany (Jeremy) Fuller, Nicholas (Kaitlyn) Carte, Danielle Sutherin (Kyle Horsburgh), Ollie Sutherin, Francesca (Michael) Gerbick, Christina (Dan) Junk, and Joseph Rubino; thirteen great-grandchildren and one on the way.
Visitation will be held Friday, Jan. 14, from 4 to 7 PM at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto, where her funeral service will be held Saturday at 11 AM. Fr. Jonas Shell will officiate, and burial will follow in the Sugar Grove Cemetery in Toronto.
