Melissa J. (Bodnar) Watts, 65, of Toronto, OH, passed away Thursday, October 28, 2021, at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center after an extended battle with cancer.
Melissa was born Sept. 9, 1956, in Steubenville, OH, daughter of the late Michael A. and Shirley M. (Henry) Bodnar. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 42 years, John R. Watts.
She was a proud 1974 graduate of Toronto High School. After graduating, she spent a long, devoted career in the banking industry. She recently retired from her position as the Branch Manager of US Bank’s Toronto office. Melissa was a member of the St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Toronto.
Melissa was a loving mother, devout Christian, and great friend to many. She spent her happiest times with dear family and friends.
She is survived by her only son, John Michael Watts, wife Julie, and her recently born granddaughter, Joelle of Mars, PA; brothers, Michael T. (Carole) Bodnar of Toronto and Keith (Melissa) Bodnar of Bloomingdale, OH; aunt, Mary Ann Allen of Toronto, and her nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received Monday, Nov. 1, 2021, from 2 to 5 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home 701 Findley St. in Toronto, OH. A private funeral service will be held Tuesday. Fr. Thomas Vennitti will officiate, and burial will take place in the Toronto Union Cemetery.
