Michael William Walker, 56, of Toronto, OH, passed away Friday, Jan. 7, 2022, after battling cancer in NY and OH for over two years. To see him in person, one would not think he had cancer, but his faith, positive outlook on life and his energy working in fraternal and other organizations kept the fight alive.
Mike was born March 6, 1965, in Steubenville, son of the late William Harold Walker and Wilma Mae (McKnight) Walker who survives.
He was a 1983 graduate of Toronto High School and a 1990 graduate of DeVry University. Mike worked for Northrop Grumman in Virginia as a Bio-Hazard Field Rep.
Mike was a Veteran of the US Army having served from 1983-1988 and was active in the Army Reserves until 1996.
Mike leaves behind his daughter, Amanda Hope Walker, of Hamburg, NY, his family in Parma, NY, Nashville, TN, and the entire Woodburn McKnight family which he faithfully attended the yearly reunions, aunt and uncle, Kenneth and Wanda McKnight Woodward, aunt Marcella McKnight, and cousin Linda Kay McKnight all of Toronto; special thanks for supports by his neighbors, Tim and Michelle Taylor, cousin Paige Manning of Toronto, and cousin Mark Woodward of Westover, PA; longtime NY friends, Debbie Tucker Donovan and Brenda Tucker of Hamburg, NY, Della Longo Hartline and Chuck Hartline and family of Wintersville, OH.
There will be a Memorial Service Saturday, Jan. 22 at 3 PM a the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto. Friends will be received from 2 PM to 3 PM. Rev. Frank Rogers will officiate, and Military Honors will be provided by the Toronto American Legion Post #86 Honor Guard. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
