It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Paul Edward ‘Buzzy’ Kalivoda, 72, a lifelong resident of Toronto, OH.  He passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at Weirton Medical Center in Weirton, WV from a cancer setback and heart complications. 

 

Buzzy was born September 30, 1949, son of the late Paul and Betty Kalivoda. He graduated from Toronto High School in 1968 and later retired from the Weirton Steel Corp. having worked in the Fuel Dept.

 

Buzzy was a life-long booster of Toronto Red Knight’s sports and he was an avid golfer. He was generous with his time to support and to participate in local events. He was a member of the Toronto Sons of the American Legion Post #86 and the Fraternal Order of Eagles. He was a kind man who will be deeply missed.

 

In addition to his parents, Buzzy was preceded in death by his beloved son, Todd Kalivoda in 2017, loving sister, Helen Marie Grimm and brothers-in-law, Gary Grimm, and John Bucey.

 

Buzzy is survived by his sister, Kathryn Bucey, and niece, Kristin Paxton, of Gurnee, IL; brother, Michael of Steubenville; nephew, Donald (Jennifer) Grimm of Sugar Grove; cousin, Mary Beth Robertson of Toronto; daughter-in-law, Carolynn Kalivoda of Las Vegas, NV, and many other special relatives and loyal friends.

 

Buzzy will be cremated and later interred with a private family ceremony in the Sugar Grove Cemetery on the Kalivoda plot in Toronto. His arrangements are in the care of the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto.
