Phyllis June Leasure, 95, of Toronto, OH, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2018 in the Valley Hospice Care Center in Steubenville, OH.
Phyllis was born June 12, 1922 in Sharon, PA, daughter of the late Clarence H. ‘Bill’ and Maude E. (Bowen) Davis.
She was a retired kindergarten teacher with the Toronto City Schools for 35 years. Phyllis was also an 82 year member of the First Presbyterian Church in Toronto where she was both a Deacon and Elder. She was a member of the Three Arts Club and the Retired Teachers Group also.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert ‘Deak’ Leasure who passed in 2003 and her brother, William ‘Bill’ Davis.
Phyllis leaves behind her two sons, Red Leasure and Putty Hall of Toronto and Dan Leasure of Newport Richey, FL; her brother, Jack Davis of Troy Missouri; her three grandchildren, Todd (Alaina) Leasure, Ryan (Julie) Leasure and Jarrett Leasure; her great-grandchildren, Isabelle, Deacon, Liviana, Ava and Aubree and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received on Saturday, Feb. 17 at the First Presbyterian Church in Toronto from 11 am til the time of her funeral service at 1:30 pm. Rev. Tyler Bayless will officiate her service and burial will follow in Toronto Union Cemetery.
Arrangements for Phyllis are in the care of the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto.
