Raymond R. ‘Dick’ Guy, Jr., 76, of Toronto, OH, passed away at his home on Tuesday May 9, 2023.
Dick was born Jan. 14, 1947, in Steubenville, OH, son of the late Raymond R., Sr., and June E. (Whisman) Guy.
Dick was retired from the First Energy Corp., W.H. Sammis Plant in Stratton, OH, where he was Supervisor of Operations.
His memberships included the St. Francis Catholic Church in Toronto, the Toronto F.O.E Aries #1276 and Cadiz F.O.E #2162, the Toronto American Legion Post # 86, and the Toronto Vol. Fire Dept. where he was a former member for 10 years. Dick was an avid Ohio State Buckeye’s fan, and he loved NASCAR.
Dick was a Veteran of the US Navy, having served his country during the Vietnam War aboard the U.S.S. America from 1966-1970.
In addition to his parents, Dick was preceded in death by his son, Ryan, and his daughter, Amy Scott.
Surviving is his wife, Joyce E. (Skeeles) Guy, whom he married Sept. 6, 1969; son, Greg (Cori) Guy of CO; sister, Ruth Elaine (Mike) Cottis of Toronto; brother, Randy (Carole) Guy of CO; three grandchildren, Kaitlin and Hannah Scott, and Savannah Guy, and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Friday May 12, 2023, from 1 pm to 5 pm, at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto, OH. Dick’s Funeral Service will follow at 5 pm with Fr. Thomas Vennitti. An Eagle’s Service and Military Honors, provided by the Toronto American Legion Post #86, will both follow. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. www.jefosterfh.com
