Raymond Piergallini, 87, of Smithfield, OH, passed away January 31, 2020 in the Valley Hospice Care Center in Steubenville, OH, with family by his side.
He was born July 29, 1932, in Martins Ferry, OH, a son of the late Joe and Felice Piergallini.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Piergallini, son, Dino and brother, Gilbert.
Raymond was a farmer and successful businessman throughout his life. He was a former member of the Jefferson County Fair Board, Jefferson County Farm Bureau, Italian American Cultural Club, Jefferson County Soil and Water director, and Jefferson Landmark director. He was the former owner of The Blue Swan Restaurant, Piergallini Country Markets and the Carrollton Livestock Sale Barn.
He is survived by sons Larry (Carolyn), Lewis (Lori), Tim (Lynda), Todd (Tina) and daughter-in-law Diana Piergallini; his 17 grandchildren, Bianca (Matt) Ianzito, Jason, Joe, Kassy (Mark) Doughty, Austin, Nina, Cory (Julie), Greg, Mario, Nick Jordan, Giovanni, Brooke, Marlee, Madeena, Brianna and Angelina; seven great-grandchildren Maximus, Vinni, Brek, Cannon, Maddalena, Luciana and Ariel.
Family and friends will be received Monday, Feb. 3 from 5 to 7 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home 107 Hill St. in Smithfield and again on Tuesday from 12 to 3 pm and 5 to 8 pm.
A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held Wednesday at 11 am at the Le Chateau Pier 195 W. Main St. in Smithfield. There will be an hour of visitation prior to the ceremony from 10 to 11 am. Kenny Kourim will officiate and a private burial will follow in Northern Cemetery in Smithfield. Following the ceremony there will be a reception in the Luna Bleu Lounge in the lower level of Le Chateau.
