Ricky Emilio ‘Rick’ Pastre, Sr., 67, of Smithfield, OH, passed away Monday Aug. 23, 2021, in the UPMC Passavant Hospital, surrounded by his family, in Pittsburgh, PA.
Rick was born Jan. 2, 1954, in Wheeling, WV, son of the late Emilio J. and Ruth Y. (Domenick) Pastre.
Rick was the owner-operator of Pastre Service Center in Smithfield, and was a renowned accordionist, who entertained many people over the years.
He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Steubenville. Rick’s memberships include, The American Federation of Musicians, The Italian Culture Club, Smithfield Historical Society, Sons of Italy, Treasurer of the Smithfield High School Alumni Association and was a VIP for the Easter Seals.
In addition to his parents, Rick was preceded in death by an infant brother, Emilio.
Surviving is his wife of 41 years, Susan L. (Torok) Pastre, whom he married July 19, 1980; son, Ricky Emilio (Jocelyn) Pastre, Jr. of Dillonvale, OH; daughter, Ashley (Tyler) Kirkland of Moon Twp., PA; sister, Renee (Brian) Hanlin of Bloomingdale, OH and his two grandchildren, Halle and Aden Pastre.
Visitation will be held Sunday August 29, 2021, from 1 pm to 6 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home 107 Hill St. in Smithfield. A Vigil Service will be held at 5:45 pm. Additional visitation will be held Monday at Holy Family Catholic Church in Steubenville, OH from 9:15 to 10 am followed by a funeral liturgy with Mass at 10 am. Msgr. Gerald Colavini will celebrate, and burial will follow in Holly Memorial Gardens in Pleasant Grove, OH.
