Sara Ellen Johnston

Sara Ellen Johnston, 16, of Hammondsville, OH, passed away Tuesday, June 7, 2022, in the UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh.

Sara was born Dec. 1, 2005, in Salem, OH, daughter of Lance Johnston and Dawn (Fraley) Nicholson.

She was finishing up her sophomore year at Edison Local High School where she was an honor roll student. Sara loved to read, sing, and paint.

Sara was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Gregory and Ellen Johnston.

Sara leaves behind her mother, Dawn (Justin) Nicholson of Hammodsville, her father, Lance (Patty) Johnston of Richmond, OH; sister, Taylor Johnston of Toronto; maternal grandparents, Donald and Janet Fraley of Irondale, OH; stepsiblings, Robbie, Jennifer, Jeff, Caleb, and Brendon; aunts, uncles and cousins including, Cory (Bridget) Johnston, and cousin Dustin Stingle of Toronto, Douglas Fraley of the UK, and David Fraley of Columbus, OH, Shelley (Tony) Alford of Empire, OH, and cousins Kathlynn (Clayton) Stewart of Jewett, OH, and Sean Alford of SC.

Family and friends will be received Sunday, June 12 from 1 to 3 pm and again from 5 to 7 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto, OH, where a funeral service will be held Monday at 11 am.
