TSgt Robert James ‘Bobby’ Samuel, 37, of Abilene, TX, formerly of Toronto, OH, died Sunday, Sept. 4, 2022, as result of a motorcycle accident.
Bobby was born Feb. 16, 1985, in Wheeling, WV, son of William R. ‘Bob’ and Catharine L. ‘Honey’ (McGrath) Samuel.
He was a 2003 graduate of Edison Local High School. Bobby enlisted in the US Air Force and has been on active duty since Jan. 6, 2004. He was United Presbyterian by faith, and he loved to golf, ski, and spend time with family and friends.
Bobby was an aviation mechanic and crew chief with the 7th Equipment Maintenance Squadron at Dyess AFB in Texas. He spent multiple deployments overseas being stationed in Qatar, Iwo Jima, Kuwait, and Venezuela.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Haydn and Esther Samuel, maternal grandparents, Louis and Marie McGrath, and aunt, Nancy Starr.
Bobby leaves behind his parents, Bob and Honey Samuel of Toronto; sister, Melissa (Rob) Annen, nephews, Samuel, Henry, and Gabriel of Cleveland, OH; uncle, David and Sue Samuel, cousins, Jeff and Scott; uncles, Bob and Jeanette McGrath, Mickey and Amy McGrath, and Johnnie Starr and families.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, Sept. 13 from 11 am to 3 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto, OH. Bobby’s funeral service will follow at 3 pm with the Rev. Kevin Rinkes. Military Honors will be presented at the Toronto Union Cemetery Pavilion following the service. www.jefosterfh.com
