William Todd Barnes, 68, of Toronto, OH, passed away Sunday, July 2, 2023 in the Valley Hospice Care Center in Steubenville, OH.
Todd was born April 23, 1955 in Steubenville, son of the late William M. and Barbara J. (Jelea) Barnes.
Todd and his wife Michele started, owned, and operated Conveyor Equipment and Supply Co. in Empire, OH since April of 1991. He also worked for Gipson Bearing where he specialized in Industrial Sales until leaving in 2004.
He was a 1973 graduate of Toronto High School. Todd attended St. Francis Catholic Church in Toronto. He was Chairman of the former Steubenville Regatta and Racing Assoc, an executive on the board for the Jefferson Co. Republic Party, and a liaison to Congressman Bill Johnson.
In his early years Todd loved going boating on the Ohio River. He loved spending time with his family at the beach for summer vacations, both in Myrtle Beach and Florida. The joy of his life was his daughter Ashley and grandson Luca with whom he loved spending his time. Todd was also an avid Green Bay Packer fan and he loved to watch NASCAR on Sundays.
Todd leaves behind his wife, Michele M. (Zimnox) Barnes, whom he married August 24, 1990; daughter, Ashley M. (Jeremy) Fabian and grandson, Luca, of Bloomingdale, OH; brother, Gregg (Judy) Barnes of Toronto; one sister in Calcutta; nieces and nephews, Zackary Green, Joshua Barnes, Mallory Ludwig and Alyson Dunn.
Visitation for Todd will be held Thursday, July 6 from 4 PM to 7 PM at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will follow on Friday at 11 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Toronto. Additional viewing on Friday in the rear of the church will take place from 10 AM to 11 AM. Fr. Thomas Vennitti will celebrate, and burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Steubenville, OH.
