James A. ‘Cowboy’ Torok, 81, of Smithfield, OH, passed away Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family.
Jim was born June 28, 1936 in Bradely, OH, son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Szilagyi) Torok.
He was retired from the Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. where he worked in the Utilities Dept. Jim was a member of the Smithfield Presbyterian Church and the Adena American Legion.
Jim was a Veteran having served his country in the US Army.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his brothers, Joseph, Harry, Andy, Julius, Steve, John and Louis and his sisters, Margaret, Mary, Irene, Bertha and Elizabeth.
Jim leaves behind his wife, Beverly (Bartles) Torok whom he married July 1, 1961; his son, James J. (Crystal) Torok of Rayland, OH; his two daughters, Sondra Torok and Cindy Corona both of Smithfield; his five grandchildren, Sanford L. Linn III, Nathaniel J. Linn, Nicole E. Cesario, Caitlin M. Cesario and Brooklyn S. Torok and one great-granddaughter, Kaci N. Bonds.
Family and friends will be received Friday, July 14 from 3-7 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Smithfield, OH. His funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10 am at the funeral home with Chaplain George Romage officiating. Burial will follow in Holly Memorial Gardens in Pleasant Grove, OH with Military Graveside Honors being presented by the Adena American Legion.
