Vivian Martin Reynard, 96, longtime resident of Dillonvale Ridge, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 19, 2015 at Gables Care Center, Hopedale, Ohio. She was the beloved wife of the late Paul S. Reynard, who died August 16, 1993, and was the only child of the late Ray and Ora Hammond Martin of Hopedale.
She was also preceded in death by her husband’s parents, C. Edgar and Marie Reynard of Smithfield; her brother-in-law Charles E. Reynard of Georgia; sister-in-law, Gwendolyn Reynard Core, of Smithfield; and a nephew, C. Richard Reynard of Smithfield.
Born an only child on August 21, 1918, Vivian was raised a Protestant and was graduated from Hopedale High School. She and her husband Paul owned and operated Blue Ridge Coal Company in Jefferson County from the late 1940s through the early 1970s.
Vivian enjoyed playing popular music for her own pleasure and was always interested in purchasing the latest model theatre organ, complete with percussion and gadgets.
Vivian is survived by a nephew and three nieces: Ronald (Sarah) Reynard of Mingo Junction, Sherry Reynard (James) Matthews of Rayland, Denise Core (Donald) Kakascik of Brilliant and Marsha Core of Newtown Square, Pa. She also is survived by great nieces and nephews and will be missed by caring neighbors, Nancy and Randy Poludniak.
Graveside services and burial will be held on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at 11am at Greenwood Cemetery in Hopedale. Pastor Wilford Simeral will officiate.
